Bak (née Benyaminson) Estere Itzikovna (12.07.1926, Liepāja) — accountant.

In 1937, Estere’s parents, Yelena Benyaminson (1899, Riga) and Itzik Benyaminson (…, Aizpute – 1950, Riga), moved to Riga. In 1941, she completed the 7th grade of secondary school.

During World War II, Estere was evacuated to Chelny, in the Tatar SSR, where she worked at the “Krasnaya Zarya” Disabled Workers’ Cooperative. She returned to Riga in 1945 and worked as an accountant at Glavtorgchermet until 1948. From 1948 to 1963, she worked as a cash collector for the Riga State Circus.

In 1951, Estere was diagnosed with epilepsy, and until the 1960s, she was registered at a psycho-neurological dispensary.

In 1956, she married Boris Bak (1910, Sventsiany, Poland), and in 1960, their son Isak Bak (born in Riga) was born.

In 1957, her husband applied for repatriation to Poland, but their request was denied. The family repeatedly applied for emigration to Israel, which was finally granted in 1967.
