Dora Aronsohn was born into a family of employees, she graduated in 1959 from the Faculty of Chemistry at Riga Polytechnic Institute, specializing as a process engineer in the pulp and paper industry.
1959–1961 – Engineer at the Riga Turbomachinery Plant.
1961–1964 – Engineer at the Latgiproprom Design Institute.
