Abramis Katya (Hasya) Abramovna (??.??.1907, Riga - ??.??.1941, Riga) - pianist, teacher. Daughter of A. Abramis, sister of Israel and Yakov Abramis. Katya Abramis studied piano with E. Markushevich, then at the JPC. In the second half of the 1920s Katya Abramis went to Paris, where she studied with Prof. Philipe?, then graduated from the Paris Russian Conservatory under Prof. J.Konis/L.E.Konius? In 1930 she returned to Riga. Katya Abramis taught in her own Katya Abramisprivate studio, gave recitals and had an extensive classical repertoire. She also performed as an accompanist with I.Abramis, A.Abramis, H. Shelkan and others. K.Abramis' playing style was characterised by a singsong tone and high technique, which made her popular with critics and the Riga public. In 1937 the pianist had a successful tour in Palestine. In 1941 Katya Abramis was shot in Rumbula forest together with other prisoners of the Riga ghetto.
