Zilberberg Ilya-Mark Abramovich (1947)

Zilberberg (Silberberg) Ilya-Mark Abramovich (b. 24 February 1947, Riga) — engineer.

Ilya-Mark Zilberberg was the son of Abram Zilberberg (b. 1911, Podvolochisk, Ternopil region) and Mikhla (Mikhlya) Zilberberg (née Rotbart, b. 1919, Jēkabpils).

From 1964–1965 he was an apprentice jeweler at the Riga Jewelry Factory. In 1965 he worked as a signal fitter (SCB communications) on the Baltic Railway. From 1965–1968 he was an engineer at the Institute of Organic Synthesis of the Academy of Sciences of the Latvian SSR. In 1968–1969 he worked as an engineer at the REZ Factory, and in 1969 as an electrician at the “Maksla” enterprise. From 1969–1973 he was an engineer at the Central Design Bureau for Mechanization and Automation (TsPKB).

In 1971, he graduated from the evening faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering at the Riga Polytechnic Institute, qualifying as an electrical engineer in automation and telemechanics.

From 1973–1974 he served in the Soviet Army. Beginning in 1974, he worked as a senior engineer at TsPKB for Mechanization and Automation.

In his marriage to Asya Khatskelevna Zilberberg (née Felshtiner, b. 1948, Bălți), two sons were born: Eduard Zilberberg (b. 1972, Riga) andRuvin Zilberberg (b. 1975, Riga).

In 1979, Ilya-Mark Zilberberg received permission to emigrate to Israel.
