Zelikson Lazar (1904-1980)

Zelikson (Seliksohn) Lazar (Eliezer) (28 August 1904, Vitebsk – mid-1980s, Tel Aviv) — lawyer, judge.

Lazar Zelikson was born into the family of an industrial worker. His father’s name was Shmuel; his mother’s name — Sora Rivka. Later the family lived in Riga. From 1914, he studied at the private German primary and secondary school of E. Hermann in Riga, graduating in 1923.

In 1924, he studied law at the University of Jena in Germany, and later at the University of Latvia, from which he graduated in 1932. He worked as a clerk in the office of sworn advocate M. Lazerson. From 31 May 1933, he was assistant to sworn advocate J. Tron in Riga; from 11 September 1935, he served as assistant to sworn advocate A. Libinson in Riga. He was active in the Zionist society Olim.

From 1937, Lazar Zelikson lived in Palestine, in Tel Aviv. On 26 January 1938, he was removed from the list of assistant sworn advocates.

After the Second World War, he lived in Israel, where he became Chief Judge of the Tel Aviv District Magistrates’ Court. He died in Tel Aviv in the mid-1980s.
