Zelikovich Raisa Ruvimovna (1944)

Zelikovich (Selikowitsch) Raisa Ruvimovna (11 October 1944, Gorky) — operator.

Raisa Zelikovich was born in evacuation, and in 1945 her family returned to Latvia. In 1961, she worked at the Blazma factory. From 1961 to 1962, she was employed as a nurse at Riga District Military Hospital No. 289. In 1964, she worked as an operator at the textile factory Astotais Marts. From 1964 to 1968, she was an operator at the Latvia factory. In 1968, she graduated from the Riga Mechanical and Technological College of the Food Industry with a qualification as a planning technician. From 1969 to 1971, she worked as a cashier at Riga Tekstilshveobuvtorg. From 1971 to 1973, she was employed by the firm Rīgas Apģērbs. From 1976, she worked as a housekeeper at the Varavīksne factory.

In 1973, she was detained, and in 1974 was tried by the Supreme Court of the Latvian SSR under Articles 150 and 164 of the Criminal Code of the Latvian SSR, and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment. Until 1975, she served her sentence working in a corrective labour camp and was released early under an amnesty.

In 1965, she married Mendel Bezmogis (1935). After the dissolution of the marriage in 1971, she resumed her maiden name, Zelikovich.

In 1977, Raisa Zelikovich emigrated from Latvia.
