Zel (Seel) Mikhail (Mikhel) Yakovlevich (December 6, 1921, Riga) – engineer.

Mikhail Zel was born into the family of Yakov Leibovich Zel (1894, Ventspils – February 27, 1971, Riga) and Gita Abramovna Zel (née Klein)(1894, Ventspils – November 3, 1981, Riga). He worked as a dispatcher in the office of 'Transtrade' (1939-1940) and in the Riga Trade Port (1940-1941). In 1941-1946 he was evacuated (Osh, Kirghiz SSR, Chelyabinsk). Upon returning to Riga, he worked in the main Production Directorate of Latvenergo (agent-dispatcher, laboratory assistant, engineer, head of a group, sector chief). He completed his studies at the Riga Polytechnic Institute (1964) without interrupting his work.

In marriage with Meri Izrailevna Munits (1922, Riga), a son Grigory Mikhailovich Zel was born (1952, Riga).

In 1977 Mikhail Zel received permission to emigrate to Israel, where since 1975 his son – Zel Grigory Mikhailovich had been living.
