Zaretskis Bencionas Vulfovich (1932, Kaunas) – shoemaker.
Bentsionas Zaretskis graduated from 4 classes of primary school. In 1950-51, he was a lathe operator at the Riga Repair and Tractor Plant. In 1951-53, he worked on a collective farm named after Lenin in the Tikhoretsky district of the Krasnodar region. From 1953-56, he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army. In 1957-58, he was a worker at the «Dzintars» factory. From 1958, he was a shoemaker: at the Household Services Combine of the Moscow district of Riga, at the Riga Combine of Individual Footwear and Accessories, and at the «Venta» factory.
During the Holocaust, Zaretskis' parents, Wulf Zaretskis (1887, Kaunas – 1941, Kaunas) and Sara-Enna Zaretskaya (1902, Vilnius – 1941, Kaunas), brothers Chaim Zaretskis (1935, Kaunas – 1941, Kaunas) and Efroim Zaretskis (1938, Kaunas – 1941, Kaunas), and sisters Fruma Zaretskaya (1925, Kaunas – 1941, Kaunas) and Miriam Zaretskaya (1930, Kaunas – 1941, Kaunas) perished.
In marriage to Dina Zaretskaya (Cherney) (1931, Riga), two daughters were born: Sarena Zaretskaya (1959, Riga) and Bella Zaretskaya (1962, Riga).
In 1968, Bentsionas Zaretskis with his family received permission to emigrate to Israel at the invitation of her sister, Perla Salman (1927, Kaunas).
