Yakobson (née Shavlova) Ita Movshevna (9.07.1921, Rugāji, Balvi District, Latvia) – office worker. Born into the family of office workers Shavlov Moisey Borisovich (1896—1936, Varakļāni, Latvia) and Shavlova Sofiya Abramovna (1900, Varakļāni – killed by fascists in Balvi District in 1941). She completed 10 grades at the Balvi school (1937), and worked as a saleswoman in a private shop (1937—1941, Balvi). She was evacuated to Alma-Ata, Kazakh SSR, where she worked as a controller at the supply-and-distribution department of a local garment factory (1941—1945). Returning to Latvia, she worked in Riga as a linen keeper at the railway buffet of Riga Station (1945—1947). She was a saleswoman at the “Glavvino” wine shop (1948—1951); intake worker at the garment factory “Rīgas kooperators” (1951—1956), at the “Sadarbība” factory (1956—1958), at the “Siluets” factory (1958—1967); and warehouse keeper at the household services combine of Jūrmala (1967—1971).
In her marriage to Yakobson Elkhonon Yankelevich (1920, Ventspils), daughters Krupitskaya (née Yakobson) Mira Elkhononovna (1948, Riga) and Yakobson Khana Elkhononovna (1951, Riga) were born.
In 1971 she received permission to emigrate to Israel, where her husband's brother Yakobson Meer-Fayvush Yankelevich (1913, Ventspils) and her brother Shif Yankel Avseevich (1926, Varakļāni) were living. She later emigrated to the USA.
Note:
The discrepancy in the surnames of a brother and sister arose because after the death of their father, Shavlov Moisey Borisovich, Yankel was adopted by his uncle — Shif Avsey.
