Shneyder (née Kaftalovich) Enta Shmuylovna (10.3.1910, Riga) – milliner. She was born into a working-class family: her father, Kaftalovich Shmuel, was a tailor, and her mother, Kaftalovich Yevgenia, was a housewife. In 1929 Enta completed 10 grades of a Russian school. She began her working life that same year, taking a job as a cashier at Chernin's shoe store (Riga). In 1935 she married Shneyder Aizik Yankelevich (1896). From 1940 to 1941 she worked as a bookkeeper at the Riga branch of the Military Trade Office.
From July 1941 to December 1944 Enta was in evacuation in Troitsk, Chelyabinsk Region, keeping house and raising her daughter; in January 1945 she returned to Riga. After working for a year as head of the food service unit of the ORS, E.Sh. left her job for health reasons.

Sh.'s father, Kaftalovich Shmuel, was shot in the Riga ghetto in 1941. Her brother Kaftalovich Moisey (1917), according to eyewitnesses, was killed at Buchenwald concentration camp in the 1940s. Her mother, Kaftalovich (née Levina) Genya Moiseyevna, together with Sh.'s brother Kaftalovich Grisha Shmuylovich (1923, Kaftel Gary), moved permanently to the Union of South Africa in 1939, where she died in 1947. Sh.'s third brother, Kaftalovich Ilya Shmuylovich (1912, Kaftel Alec), had already moved to the Union of South Africa in 1930.

Without dissolving her marriage to Shneyder Aizik, in 1951 Sh. moved to Leningrad and entered into a common-law marriage with Epelbaum Abram (died in Leningrad on 13.3.1954). In October 1953 E.Sh. returned to Riga and took a job as a milliner and team leader at Hat Workshop No. 1 of the Riga “Bytovik” artel.

Since the marriage to A. Epelbaum, contracted without dissolving the first marriage, was invalid under Soviet law at the time, Sh. returned to living together with her first husband in the mid-1950s. In the mid-1960s the Shneyders moved permanently to Israel.
