Shamerin Iosif Vladimirovich (1933, Krāslava, Latvia) — urologist. In 1957, completed the 1st Medical Institute in Leningrad and worked for 4 years at the Polavskaya District Hospital, Novgorod Oblast, first as surgeon, then as chief physician. From 1961, worked as surgeon at the Daugavpils Railway Hospital. In 1970–1993 — head of the urology department of the Daugavpils United City Hospital. Holds three inventor's certificates, 11 publications in scientific journals, 10 rationalisation proposals. From 1993, lives in Israel.
