Krāslava / Kreislavke
He married in 5526 as the son-in-law of R. Ze'ev Wolf, known by the name R. Welwel Koreletser.
In his early years he served as Av Beit Din here, then as Av Beit Din and Maggid Mesharim in Slonim, and afterward as Av Beit Din and rosh yeshiva in Königsberg, where he passed away on 13 Iyyar 5554 (13 May 1794).
In the book Toldot Adam (Dyhrenfurth 5561), in the introduction: “the Gaon, the comprehensive scholar, G-d-fearing among the multitude, our master Shimshon, of blessed and holy memory, Av Beit Din of the holy congregation of Krāslava.”
An approbation from him was printed in Margaliot HaTorah (Paritsck 5548).
