Praizer (Praiser) (née Arsh [Abolskaya]) Rakhil (Rachil) Isakovna (10 August 1912, Daugavpils) — accountant.
According to the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rakhil Praizer was born in Rybinsk (Yaroslavl Region) and, at an early age, was adopted by a family from Daugavpils. In 1932 she graduated from a Jewish secondary school in Daugavpils. From 1932 to 1935 she gave private lessons in Daugavpils. In 1935–1940 she worked as an accountant at Osin’s transport office in Daugavpils. In 1940–1941 she was a bookkeeper at the Daugavpils Industrial Combine. In 1941 she worked as a statistician at the Daugavpils Upolmengaz.
On the day Daugavpils was occupied by German troops, Rakhil Praizer’s first husband, Rudim Abolsky (1911, Rezekne – 1941, Daugavpils), was killed. Rakhil, together with her parents, Isak Arsh (1882, Daugavpils – 1942, Daugavpils) and Sara Arsh (née Bul) (1880, Daugavpils – 1941, Daugavpils), and her daughter Dora Abolskaya (1937, Daugavpils – 1941, Daugavpils), left Daugavpils attempting to evacuate. They were surrounded by troops, returned to the city, and sent to the Daugavpils ghetto. Praizer’s parents and daughter perished in the Holocaust. Rakhil Praizer herself was first transferred to the Riga ghetto and later deported to a concentration camp in the German city of Belzin.
In Belzin, Rakhil met Mordka Praizer (1904, Będzin, Poland), who became her second husband in 1946. After liberation from the camps, she was employed in various jobs at military unit No. 61403 in Germany. In 1946 she returned to Daugavpils and until 1954 worked as an accountant at the agricultural supply shop of the Daugavpils District Executive Committee. From 1954 she worked as an accountant at the district veterinary clinic in Daugavpils. In 1949 her son Yakov was born, and in 1952 her son Boris was born. In 1958 Rakhil Praizer, together with her husband, received permission to repatriate to Poland.
