Munits Frida Aronovna (1926)

Munits (Munitz) (née Sevtsovich) Frida Aronovna (25 May 1926, Riga) — worker.

Frida Munits was born into the family of Aron Sevtsovich (1890–1940, Riga) and Pesya Sevtsovich (1890–1937, Riga). In 1941 she completed eight grades of secondary school. In the same year she was evacuated to Omsk Oblast. Until 1945 she worked as a laborer at the Agair State Farm in the Ulyanovsky District. In 1945 she returned to Riga. Until 1948 she worked as a laborer at the “Dzintars” (“Metra”) factory; from 1948 to 1950 she worked at the “Elektra” factory. Until 1958 she was a homemaker. From 1958 she worked as a braider at the Riga Home-Based Labor Combine.

In her marriage to Yakov Munits (1921, Riga — 1975, Riga), which was dissolved in 1971, three children were born: Anri Munits (1951, Riga), Liya Karmi (née Munits) (1954, Riga), and Miryama Munits (1960, Riga).

During the Holocaust her brother Isrol Sevtsovich (1931, Riga — 1941, Riga) perished. Another brother, Vulf Sevtsovich (1922, Riga — 1943), fell heroically on the fronts of the Second World War. Her brother German Shevtsovich (Sevtsovich) (1920, Riga) lived in Riga in the postwar years.

In 1971 Frida Munits, together with her daughters, received permission to emigrate to Israel at the invitation of her sister Neta (Sevtsovich) Rivka (1913, Riga). In 1943 Rivka married a Polish citizen; in 1946 she repatriated to Poland and later moved to Israel together with her husband.
