Born on 15 Menachem Av 5669 (2 August 1909) in Kreutzburg, to his father who was the ritual slaughterer in Jēkabpils (Jakobstadt). He studied at the Riga yeshiva.
He served here as ritual slaughterer, and from 11 Nisan 5696 (3 April 1936) also served as rabbi.
His name appears in the prenumeranten list at the end of the Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim, with Ta'am Megadim, vol. 1.
