Talsi
Born in Sardnik, district of Kovna, to his father who was rabbi of Suvalki and Lublin and author of the book Beit Hillel.
He served as rabbi of Talsi from the end of 5656 until 5666 (1896–1906), when he was elected rabbi of Konin in Poland.
A letter from him was printed in the book Takanat Rabim (Warsaw 5690), p. 11.
He passed away during the years of the Holocaust in the Ghetto of Józefów–Biłgorajski.
He was the brother of R. Yechezkel, among the rabbis of Bauska, who mentions him in his books HaMidrash VeHaMa'aseh.
He is signed in the registration books of the Shavlan community as official government rabbi from 5659 until Kislev 5664 (1899–1903), and in the Sassmacken community in the years 5664–5665 (1904–1905).
