Lichtenberg Solomon
(1910–1941)
Solomon Lichtenberg was born on 23 July 1910 in Liepāja into the family of a merchant; his father was Yudka, and his mother Liba (née Ginzburg). In 1914, he was evacuated with his parents to Poltava.
In 1921, he returned to Latvia. After graduating from Liepāja State Secondary School No. 1 in 1927, he began studying economics at the University of Latvia, later switching to law in 1928, which he completed in 1932. During his studies, he worked as the secretary to the sworn advocate L. Vilenkin. From May 1932, he served as a trainee in the Criminal Department of the Liepāja District Court. From 14 December 1932, he was the assistant to the sworn advocate A. Herzoni in Liepāja, and from 7 November 1934, assistant to the sworn advocate J. Valters in Priekule. On 9 September 1936, he left the register of sworn advocates at his own request (for health reasons).
During the German occupation, in July 1941, Solomon Lichtenberg was arrested and placed in Riga Central Prison, where he perished later in 1941.
