Levinsky Arkady Pavlovich (04 February 1940, Kharkov) — feldsher (medical assistant), physician.
Until 1941 Arkady Levinsky lived with his parents in Moscow. In 1941 he was evacuated with his mother to Kazan, and in 1942 moved to Frunze (Bishkek) to his mother’s sister, where he lived until 1944, after which he returned to Moscow. In 1947–48 he lived with his parents in Magdeburg, where his father served. In 1948 his father was reassigned to Kaliningrad, and the family moved there; a year later they relocated to Riga (again, according to his father’s posting).
After completing 10 grades at Secondary School No. 4 in Jūrmala, in 1957 he entered Riga Medical School No. 4, graduating in 1959. He was then drafted for active military service in the Soviet Army, serving in Riga in the military commandant’s unit of the Baltic Military District. After completing his service, he remained as a career serviceman until 1964. During his service, in 1961, he began evening studies at the medical faculty of the Riga Medical Institute, graduating in 1969.
In 1964–69 he worked at the Riga Emergency Medical Station, first as a feldsher and later as a physician. For several months he served as doctor for the football team “Daugava” of the RĒZ plant, and afterwards worked as a resident physician at Riga City Hospital No. 3. In 1977 he applied for permission to emigrate to Israel for permanent residence.
Arkady Levinsky was registered for military duty, VUS 6402/6401, senior lieutenant of medical service; from 1972 — VUS 6409. In 1968–77 he was a member of the CPSU, from which he was expelled due to his application to emigrate to Israel.
In 1970 he married Zhenya Yakovlevna Levinskaya (née Khozias). Their daughter is Anatta Arkadyevna Levinskaya (1972 – (?)).
