Klyachko Boris Zinovyevich (b. 24 January 1920, Petrograd [now St Petersburg]) — mechanic.
Boris Klyachko was born into the family of Zinovy Savelyevich Klyachko (1890, Dnipropetrovsk Region – 1924) and Molia Genokhovna Meyerovich (by her second marriage) (b. 1896, Dvinsk [now Daugavpils]). He completed primary school and later graduated from the correspondence department of the Melitopol Agricultural College, specialising in agricultural mechanisation (1967).
After his parents’ divorce in 1921, he moved with his mother to Latvia. He worked in Riga as a blacksmith’s apprentice in a private workshop (1933–1934), then as a fitter at the firm “Elektromekhanik” (1934–1939). He served in the Latvian Army (1939–1941, Valka, Kārsava). During the war he was evacuated to Molotov (since 1957 — Perm), where he worked as a foreman and later site supervisor at Construction and Assembly Department No. 2 (1941–1944).
Upon returning to Riga, he worked as director of Car Service Station No. 1 (1944–1946). After moving to Vilnius, he was a site supervisor at OSMU-3 of the Main Oil Supply Administration (1946–1949). He was convicted under Article 2 and served his sentence in Dudinka, Krasnoyarsk Krai (1950–1953). After his release, he worked as head of a mechanical workshop and later as a foreman at the construction company “Portstroy” (1953–1958, Dudinka).
After relocating to Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia Region), he worked as a foreman and site manager at SMU-11 of “Melitopolstroy” (1958–1961); as chief mechanic at SMU-11 of “Melitopolspetsstroy” (1961–1966); at SU-2 of the Housing Construction Trust “Melitopolmashstroy” (1966–1967); and at the “Melitopolmashstroy” Trust (1967–1969). After moving to Latvia, he worked as head of the Production and Technical Department of the Road Maintenance Administration of Jūrmala (1969–1971).
In his first marriage to Irena Mikhailovna Klyachko (née Tomashevich) (b. 1920, Vilnius), there were no children; the marriage was dissolved in 1955.
In his second marriage to Sofya Zalmanovna Klyachko (née Genfon) (b. 1931, Moscow), he had a daughter, Alisa Borisovna Klyachko (b. 1955, Dudinka).
In 1971, Boris Klyachko received permission to emigrate to Israel, where his brother Yakov Zinovyevich Klyachko (b. 1917, Petrograd) had been living since 1935.
