Moisei Greditor completed four years of primary school before beginning work at the Lazarev sausage factory in Daugavpils, where he remained until 1941. In the 1930s, he performed his compulsory military service in the Latvian Army. At the onset of the Second World War, he was evacuated to Urzhum in Kirov Oblast, and in 1941 he volunteered for frontline service. Following demobilisation in 1946, he returned to Latvia and worked in Riga in the food sector: at a sausage-production plant and in retail outlets under the Trade Union Cooperative and Food Trade Ministry. He retired in 1978.

In 1978, Moisei himself emigrated from Latvia.
