Gel Zalman (23 September 1868, Riga) – public figure.

In 1913, Zalman Gel founded the boys’ school Cheder Klali, which later evolved into Malbish Arumim, an organisation he also co-founded. During the war, he worked extensively on behalf of refugees, assisting dozens of homeless Jewish children by providing them with food, clothing, and shelter.

He was one of the founders of the Committee for the Homeless during the 1918 occupation and was an active member of what was then referred to as the Emergency Committee. Later, he served as Executive Director of Malbish Arumim, where he also sat on the board. He was a founding member of the Gemilut Chasadim (Charity Fund) under the local Jewish community. Additionally, he worked with the Moshav Zekeinim (Home for the Elderly) and the Orphanage.
