Irma Florenskaya was born into the family of Isak Davidson (1877, Jelgava — 1935, Jelgava) and Malka Davidson (1881, Jelgava — 1943, Yaransk). She graduated from the Jelgava gymnasium and lived in Jelgava until 1941.

In 1930–1931 she worked as a sales assistant in a grocery store. From 1931 to 1932 she was an accountant at the firm “Falk and Rosenfeld,” and from 1932 to 1940 she worked as a cashier in the shop “Efraimson and Jakobson.” In 1940–1941 she was employed as an accountant at the enterprise “Jelgavas linu vērptuve.”

In 1941 she was evacuated to the Yaransk district of the Kirov region. During the war years she worked as a laborer in a collective farm (1941–1942), then at a potato and onion drying facility (1942–1943), and from 1943 to 1945 as an accountant in the municipal trust of the town of Yaransk. In 1945 she returned to Latvia and settled in Riga. Until 1963 she was a homemaker; from 1963 to 1965 she worked as a cloakroom attendant at the “Dinamo” stadium.

She was married to Moisey Florensky (1915, Mažeikiai district, Lithuania), with whom she had two daughters: Malka Florens (1945, Yaransk) and Riva Florenskaya (1950, Riga). Her brother David Davidson (1905, Jelgava — 1941) died in action during the Second World War. Her brothers Semyon Davidson (1912, Jelgava — 1941(?)) and Pavel Davidson (1907, Jelgava — 1941(?)) were killed in the Holocaust. In 1965 she received permission to emigrate to Israel.
