Duel Rafail Semenovich (1904, Kherson – ?) - engineer, manager
From 1920 to 1923, Rafail Duel served in the Red Army. From 1929 to 1943, he worked at factories in Ukraine, Leningrad, the Moscow Region, and Chelyabinsk as a design engineer, workshop manager, and production manager. From 1943 to 1947, he was deputy commander of a tank brigade. From 1947 to 1952, he worked at a railway car factory in the Moscow region, and from 1952 to 1954, he worked at the Riga railway car factory as a workshop manager. From 1954 to 1961, he was director of the Seces, Ezernieki, and Dagda MTS and RTS. From 1966 to 1971, he was director of the Cesis car repair plant. He was awarded two Orders of the Patriotic War, 1st class, two Orders of the Red Banner of Labour, and the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd class.
