He served as rabbi in Valdemarfils (Sassmacken, see there) and in Priekule (Frauenburg).
He served as rabbi here from 5665 (1905).
In 5682 (1922) he emigrated to Canada and served as rabbi in Montreal until his passing on 10 Tammuz 5704 (1 July 1944).
A letter from him about the situation in the community here after the First World War was printed in Zikaron BaSefer (pp. 269–270).
