Disenchik (Disentchik) Aryeh (1907, Riga – 1978, Ramat Gan, Israel) - political figure and journalist. Aryeh Disenchik studied at the universities of Riga and Vienna. One of the founders of the Zionist-Revisionist youth movement Betar (1923), he was a close aide to Ze’ev Jabotinsky throughout the 1920s–30s, visiting almost every country in Europe on Jabotinsky’s assignments.
In 1934, Disenchik immigrated to Eretz Israel (then British Mandate Palestine). From 1935 to 1936, he was the secretary and editor of the Revisionist Zionist newspaper Hayarden. He headed the editorial department of the newspaper Haboker from 1936 to 1942 and again from 1945 to 1948. In 1948, he became one of the founders of the newspaper Maariv and served as its editor-in-chief from 1956 to 1974. From 1945 to 1957, he was also a correspondent for the Associated Press in Israel.
His son, Ido Disenchik, was editor-in-chief of Maariv from 1985 to 1991.
